Marc Anderson is in his 10th year as Strength & Speed Coordinator at North Central High School.   This is Coach Anderson’s 36th year in teaching/coaching.  He teaches 6 Strength & Speed classes at NC with over 500 students enrolled each semester.  Anderson also runs the after-school weight training and speed improvement programs.  During the summer, he oversees the strength & speed for each North Central athletic team.  Coach Anderson is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He is a charter member of the CSCS having become certified at the original exam in Dallas in 1985. 



Anderson coached the Panther Powerlifting team.  North Central won 5 boys and 5 girls USA Powerlifting State Championships.  In addition, the Panthers have a 6th and 7th place finish in the high school National Championships.



In his amazing career, Coach Anderson has trained 20 teams which have won IHSAA State Championships.  His powerlifting teams have won a remarkable 17 boys and 9 girls State Championships with 3 National championships and 3 National Runner-ups.  In addition, he has trained 8 club teams which have won State Championships.  All of this adds up to a spectacular 53 State Champions and 3 National Championships      



His program has produced,

* 1 Basketball State Scoring Champion

* Indiana’s Boys Basketball All-Time Leading Scorer

* The only girls high school basketball player in Indiana to dunk (8 times)

*25 IHSAA individual and relays/doubles State Champions.

        

As an author, Anderson has published a text book for weight training entitled Scientific Strength Training and has had 3 articles published in national magazines.



As a head football coach, Anderson was the 1994 Indianapolis area Coach of the Year, Hamilton County Coach of the Year and Hoosier Heritage Conference Coach of the Year while leading Hamilton Southeastern to an undefeated regular season. As a head varsity coach, Anderson was 14-5 and as a freshman coach 102-11 for an incredible career mark of 116-16 (.878).  Anderson coached 10 undefeated football teams.  The freshman teams he coached went on to play in 4 “Final Fours” and 2 state championship games highlighted by Castle High School’s 1982 undefeated state championship. (Ranked #8 in the Nation by USA Today) 



Coach Anderson is a graduate of Indiana University where he was a member of the Hoosier wrestling team.   He was the 1976 recipient of the team’s “Outstanding Student-Athlete Award.”  As a head wrestling coach, his teams won 5 sectional championships in 6 years at Castle High School.



Anderson also coached the Castle girls tennis team and 4 time state champion Lanae Renschler.  Renschler was 100-0 and never lost a set in high school competition.  Lanae highlighted her career by winning the 18 & under clay court National Championship.



Anderson took up racing INEX Legends car in 2009 and captured 3 straight Golden Masters Championships at the Indianapolis Speedrome.  During the past 3 seasons, He has finished 25th,  27th  and 14th (out 374) in the nation in the Masters division. Coach “A” was 2011 Indiana Golden Masters State Champion.

Anderson and his wife Paula have two adult children Aimee (33) and Andrea (29) and two grandchildren Payton (6) and Colten (3).
